Jessica L. Rice

Currently, Jessica is active within the Criminal Justice Reform and complex commercial litigation.

Prior to joining MJ Legal, P.A., Jessica was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Court of Appeals of the State of Mississippi, and a Legal Extern for the United States Attorney's Office (Northern District of Mississippi).

Jessica Rice chose to go into the legal field because she believes it would be the best way to affect change in her community.

"I believe equal access to justice is one way we can set everyone on a fair playing field," Rice said. "Ideally, I would like to start my legal career in the public sector and believe that I will be able to find ample opportunities[.]" Creating her own opportunities, she joined Marcy in launching MJ Legal, P.A.

Roc Nation’s philanthropy arm, Team Roc, filed a lawsuit against the Mississippi Department of Corrections in 2020 on behalf of over 150 inmates in the state’s Parchman prison in response to conditions described as “barbaric.” Jessica LeAnn Rice, who is working with Team Roc, explained to NBC LX why this case is important in Mississippi and details the long history of the prison.
